In case you haven't heard the news, this years "Free Comic Book Day" (yes, I repeat: FREE COMIC BOOKS!!) is going to be the most bodacious, bitchin', gnarly day ever. Why? Well for the first time in 20 years, Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and many of the TMNT crew, are reuniting for the event... A dream come true for any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan!

In May 1984, Laird and Eastman self-published the first black and white issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, at an initial print run of 3000 copies for the forty-page oversized comic. To commemorate the mutant milestone of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 30th Anniversary, co-creators of the heroes in a half-shell - Laird and Eastman - will be reuniting for the special day, which is being hosted in Jetpack Comics, Rochester, NH.

Kevin Eastman appeared at the event last year and enjoyed it so much he decided to take Peter Laird back with him this year. The small comic book convention began in 1984 - the year the Turtles were first conceived - and with Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman's upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film on the way, it seems as though Free Comic Book Day 2014 is the perfect day for Eastman and Laird to hold their public reunion. Mark the date on your calendars: May 3, 2014!

Will you be attending the TMNT reunion at Free Comic Book Day this year? Does it make you pumped for the reboot's August 8, 2014 release? Hit me up in the comment section below!
