Fans of Farscape no doubt had their spirits risen by the news earlier this year that a Farscape movie was being considered.

Of course, we often here about television shows being rebooted on the big screen and then feel disappointed when nothing actually comes to fruition. Luckily, it seems like progress for the Farscape movie is moving along, if slightly slowly. Revolution producer and Farscape veteran, Rockne S. O'Bannon told an audience at WonderCon:

We are, in fact, in the script stage of a Farscape feature. It's still in early, early stages.

It seems, however, Farscape creator, Brian Henson is pouring his heart and soul into the project. O'Bannon added of Henson:

He was like a dog with a bone. He would not give up on it.

The sci-fi television series originally ran from 1999 to 2004 before being prematurely cancelled. It came back briefly with a mini-series designed to tie up the lose ends, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, and according to previous reports, the film will follow this series and the later released comic-books. In particular the story is expected to concern the son of John Crichton and Aeryn Sun.

What do you think? Is it time Farscape returned?

Is it too late for Farscape to return?
