These Supervillain deserves more respect!

Black Manta is arguably DC Comics most underrated suprvillain! The coldest-hearted man, murderer of an infant, the embodiment of hatred and passion, hunter of kings, a mercyless father, this is Black Manta. We can all make jokes about Super Friends Aquaman but his rogues gallery is no joke at all because there's something menacing about this creature of a man...

Heartbreaking and disturbing origin story

Black Manta has one of most disturbing origin stories in comics. I will mention his original origin story back in Aquaman #6 1993.

Aquaman #6 1993
Aquaman #6 1993

We only know that this his first name was "David" and he was from Baltimore, Maryland just like Arthur aka Aquaman. David was a huge fan of Aquaman and he loved the seas, in fact, he always played by the docks until one horrendous incident changed everything! He was kidnapped and sexually abused abroad a boat by a group of fishermen. While being abused by his kidnappers, he would scream for Aquaman to save him, but no one answered his calls.

That's where the Family Guy joke came from

:

Sitting in the dark filled with hatred and despair, David knew he had to escape one way or another. When the boat was close enough to land he killed both his kidnappers with a knife, stabbing one of the men in the throat. I find Black Manta's origin story very unique compared to other villains. Because so many villains in comics have lame reasons to hate the hero.
