Growing up, movies were one of the many events my family bonded over. Being the baby of the family, I had no say in what to watch. But I didn't mind, just having the big bowl of popcorn in my lap, next to my Mom was good enough for me. Movie Night was every Friday night, and that was the night I looked forward to the most.
My older siblings loved to watch Horror movies, yet I was never scared to watch right along with them. From "A Vampire In Brooklyn" to "Queen of The Damned", I loved them all. Of course, vampires were my favorite to watch. (Not the shiny, cheesy ones though.) Hands down, my favorite vampire of all time was the one Aaliyah played oh so well! And that's one movie I still believe that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Now that I'm grown and on my own, I still have my own movie night. I have more movies than I have songs on my cell phone. From "John Carpenter's Vampires" to the latest "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", I have every movie I ever watched. And my collection of movies is still growing everyday. Thanks to Wal-Mart and their $5 movie bin. SyFy and Chiller are the two channels I watch the most. There's something about a good Horror movie that can actually scare and excite you that's quite interesting. I love the feeling of not knowing what's gonna pop out and scare the living daylights out of ya!
Although it's not that hard to predict the ending of the new movies coming out this year, I still look forward to going to the movie theater, popcorn in tow, getting scared. I will always and forever be a movie goer, proud to be one as well.
