HBO has released the full trailer of the upcoming new show The Leftovers. The show is co-written by Lost writer/producer Damon Lindelof and Tom Perotta; who authored the book of the same name. The show, as with most HBO series, seems to boast a large, well known cast such as Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston and Liv Tyler to name a few.

You can check the out the trailer below:

The story is set after an event known as the 'Sudden Departure', where a percentage of the human race have disappeared into thin air. Based on a biblical prophecy known as 'The Rapture', this event is the inciting event for the show. The story is told through a small group of people who have all lost someone. The main arguments that seem to be presented in the piece are religious and philosophical; how believers and non believers deal with extreme trauma and the friction that this can cause within a society.

The show premieres on June 29th at 10pm.

I know what I'll be doing that day, what about you?
