I now know what that 'Untitled 12 year project' was over in iMDB. I assumed it was a film being made that sees the life of someone over the course of 12 years, Well I was almost right. Instead it's a film that sees the life of a boy over the course of 12 years that actually took 12 years to make. Now this film amazes me in every way and how they did it must of taken a lot of patience seeing as we have a cast that's always busy doing other projects. The film stars Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Ethan Hawke. And the story is quite simply put 'The life of a young man, Mason, from age 5 to age 18'. So its like The Truman Show but with out the live feed.
Richard Linklater (who directed and wrote this film) and his crew get together annually to film Linklater's script about a boy who will eventually grow up into a college freshman.
In my own opinion there will never be another film like this and I am interested on how it will come together on the big screen. Ellar Coltrane who was only 7 when shooting began up until the age of 18 is an unknown actor with only a few films under his belt, will have a whole new lifestyle after this film. He will have projects coming in from every corner because he is a great actor and has a shed load of talent that's just waiting to be unleashed on audiences around the world.
Boyhood will be released in the UK on July 11th
