We are used to Jennifer Lawrence flipping the bird in jest and fooling around with the press, but this time she means business.

The [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) actress looked like she had tears in her eyes when she was photographed by paps who ambushed her outside a London house party.

As a parting gift for the invasion of privacy, Lawrence left the press vultures with a different sort of bird to consider, but Nicholas Hoult didn't seem impressed.

The [Equals](movie:1155043) star can be seen trying to pull JLaws hand down in the taxi cab, and he is obviously concerned about how his girlfriend will be portrayed in the media.

I can't blame JLaw for wanting to give the predatory paparazzi a piece of her mind, but Hoult is clearly being the sensible one here.

The famously low key actor obviously knows that if you give the paps even the smallest of tidbits, they will hound you to the end of the earth. Seeing 'America's Sweetheart' throwing the bird is exactly the sort of thing they want to provoke.

An image of Lawrence giving an offensive gesture will sell for heaps more cash than one of her swathed in a stained grey hoodie, and Hoult is clearly trying to protect her from the consequences of her impulsive reactions.

Nobody can keep their cool all the time though. Clearly not even Jennifer Lawrence's sunshine personality can insulate her from the constant intrusion of the press.

Do you guys think Lawrence looks genuinely upset in the pictures?
