Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby) has reportedly signed on to direct an upcoming biopic of Elvis Presley for Warner Bros. The film is being scripted by Kelly Marcel (Saving Mr Banks).

I really like this choice of director for an Elvis biopic! I feel like Luhrmann's style will fit what Elvis was, a showman, a rock n' roll sensation!

I am a fan of Baz Luhrmann, I really liked his take on Romeo and Juliet and I enjoyed The Great Gatsby, and his direction is all about style! I love his blend of the modern day with the past. Like with Romeo and Juliet being set in modern day but with Shakespearian language or all the modern music in The Great Gatsby.

I am definitely a supporter of this! But what do you guys think? Do you think Luhrmann's style will be the right fit for an Elvis biopic?
