Warlock was created by "Beehive". The goal of the researchers there was to create the perfect human being, the pinnacle of future human evolution. Fortunately for the denizens of Earth, the new being was a creature beyond the control of his creators. The creature emerged, known only as "Him", and immediately sensed that his creators sought to use him for evil ends. He lashed out, damaging the complex and injuring his "fathers", and promptly escaped.
Unfortunately, "Him" was a being with no life experience due to his unique conception. He promptly encountered Thor, and attempted the abduction of the Lady Sif in order to mate with her (an act that would be repeated in a more benign but no less infuriating fashion by his gene-sister "Her", now known as Kismet). Thor naturally took offense to this kidnapping, and promptly beat the young Godling near to death. Warlock promptly retreated to the safety of a regenerative cocoon and thus was later reborn.
In Case you missed the Post Credit scene from Thor: The Dark World, or if you saw it but had no idea what was going on, let me break it down for you real quick before I move on.
In the post credits of the Sequel to Thor, The two Asgardians walked through a room filled with items. Items that are part of a collection. A collection that belonged to, well the Collector. (Yea that weird guy dressed all crazy played by Benicio Del Toro is known as The Collector). Part of his collection was a huge and ugly cocoon that seemed to serve only as a huge ugly cocoon in the background for the meeting between the Collector and twosome of Asgardians bearing gifts. But for those True Believers and Comic Wizards you all knew that it was a sign. A sign that Adam Warlock may be making his way to the Big Screen!
Upon his rebirth, Him was renamed as Warlock by the High Evolutionary, who became a guiding force in the life of the reborn Godling. The High Evolutionary gave Warlock purpose, direction, and the vampiric SOUL GEM.
Now if you have been following Phase l & ll of The Marvel Cinematic Universe, (dating back to The First Avenger where the Tesseract is introduced as the ultimate power source) there have been talks of gems & stones that hold the key to power & all sorts of madness. Things that only The Mad Titan Thanos would want to get his hands on. You know Thanos, the Big Purple guy with the creepy grin that was really behind Loki's New York attack.
STAY WITH ME
Now there are several gems out there already & if Marvel's plan is to enter Thanos as the big bad for the Avengers 3 he is going to need The Infinity Gauntlet & The 6 Infinity Stones. The 6th Stone being The Soul Gem which Adam Warlock carried on his forehead. We've already seen the Infinity Gauntlet teased in the first Thor, though if you blinked you would have missed it so here is a picture of it:
Now we've all read the rumors that Thanos may be making an appearance in Guardians of The Galaxy since he is Gamora's (who will be played by Zoe Saldana) adoptive father & Nebula's (who will be played by Karen Gillan) Grandfather. But Ronan The Accuser is named to be the Big Bad in that film & once again Thanos may just be pulling the strings. We may see another Infinity Stone in this film as well as maybe the possibility of a post credit scene with The Cocoon hatching & Adam Warlock coming out? Probably not since it may be too soon for that. With a whole Phase lll ahead before we see Thanos suit up to take on the Avengers himself in the third Avengers film we may not see Adam Warlock if we get to see him at all for some time. But if Marvel decides to leave Adam Warlock locked how else will Thanos gather the soul gem? Perhaps from Steven Strange (Dr. Stange who is rumored to be appearing in Marvels Phase lll)? I don't have all the answers yet but sound off below and let me know what you think!
