I personally am a huge X-Men fan, falling in love with the 1990s TV series and then starting reading the comics. One reason why I love it so much is the pure diversity of it's characters, the sheer number of characters and how even to this day they can think of a new mutant for the comics and still think of a new power they can have that we have not seen before. We know that X-Men Apocalypse is coming in 2016 and given the title we can safely assume that Apocalypse will appear in the movie, but that is pretty much all we know. Apocalypse has had many henchmen through the decades in the comics and many different mutants have had dealing with him. So I thought we could take a look at some characters we could see enter in the movie joining the ever growing cast of characters in the movies.

Archangel

Archangel - The Horseman of Death
Archangel - The Horseman of Death

Archangel is probably the best known henchman of Apocalypse given him being an X-Man to start with. He is Apocalypse's horseman of death and would lead the other horseman in to battle for Apocalypse and do his bidding. He can obviously fly but his white feathered wings have been replaced by metal wings with razor sharp feathers he can fire at his targets. He also has a healing factor and has enhanced strength, so he could be a prime candidate for Wolverine to face in the movie. It is highly likely we will see him in the movie but the question is will he appear already transformed into the angel of death or will we see Warren Worthington III turned into Apocalypse's servant? Only time will tell. Also on a side note, Archangel has been a member of X-Force and we know they have plans for that movie, so he would also make a good candidate to enter that movie franchise.

Dazzler

Dazzler
Dazzler

Now she may seem like an unlikely choice given she wants to be a singer and famous. But in the Age of Apocalypse comic book series she was a member of the X-Men and due to the world being ruined by Apocalypse's regime she was a chain smoker as she had no use for a singing voice. In this universe she was also much more skilled with her powers which is the ability to create hard light constructs manipulating both light and sound energies. She even used these powers to help train her team mates as she could create training courses for them to train on using her hard light constructs. If they do a film with a apocalyptic future and a past needing to be saved like they did in the TV series Wolverine and the X-Men, it could be fun to see a young Dazzler pursuing her singing career in the past and then a mean fighter Dazzler in the future training the younger recruits.

Mr Sinister

Now this guy is a twisted scientist. He loves to play with genetics and his skills have been employed by Apocalypse many times in the comic books. Also due to experimenting on himself over the years he has a mental pool of powers. He has superhuman strength, durability, telepathy, energy projection via telepathy, molecular manipulation, regenerative healing factor, shape-shifting and with a genius-level intellect he is a tough guy to take down. He would be perfect to play a sub big bad in the movie and could easily be the distraction fight for the main team while Apocalypse sets in to motion his plans.

Boom Boom

Boom Boom
Boom Boom

Now this is a girl with a touch of attitude and when she enters a room it goes with a boom. She can create variably-sized yellow orbs which are created by pure psionic energy which exploded with a concussive and destructive force. She is also a lot of fun to read in the comics due to her sassy attitude and ability to make a comment that can leave everyone speechless. She would also be a brilliant candidate to act as the new female in a young team of X-Men as viewers will wonder if she will have the same fate as Mystique and turn to the dark side. Also like Archangel she has been a member of X-Force so if audiences take well to her in the X-Men movies they make pull her over to the X-Force movie.

Cable

Cable
Cable

Now this is a character people have been waiting to see enter the movies for a while. With Bishop entering in X-Men Days of Futures Past could this time travelling mutant be the next to enter the movie franchise? Well maybe, as his first TV apperance in the 1990's X-Men TV series featured him trying to stop Apocalypse. With that in mind it makes it more likely we could see him coming in to take down the big bad in the movie. Cable has got a nice collection of powers including telepathy, telekinesis, technopathy, enhanced physical attributes and he is also an expert marksman and hand-to-hand combatant. His genetics are also interesting which could really confuse fans not clear with the comics so they may save that part of his story for a future film. Oh did I also mention he was also a member of X-Force so guess what? Oh yeah he to could also cross over.

Armor

Armor
Armor

Given that Kitty Pryde has grown up now Armor presents a lovely chance for a young fresh female X-Man. She is pretty interesting in the fact her powers are the ability to create an impenetrable psionic exoskeleton around her body which grants her superhuman strength, invulnerability, reflexes, agility, endurance, stamina and dexterity. But where is gets really interesting is her armor is powered by her ancestors. In the comics her powers increased so suddenly at one point it shocked her and she lost conciousness. She then discovered her mother and brother had both died in a car accident. After that her powers got even stronger. I think it would also be cool to see a massive glowing armor powered by a young girl trashing up a battlefield.

Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch

We will be meeting her twin brother in X-Men Age of Apocalypse, so it probably will not be long until we meet this woman. We know her powers have been altered for the Avengers Age of Ultron film, but in the comics she is basically a weapon of mass destruction waiting to happen. Her powers are basically reality manipulation allowing her to change whatever she wants and alter probability. She can also access chaos magic and fire hex bolts from her hands. The lesson is never underestimate the player cos this woman nearly wiped out the entire mutant population in the comics by utter the words "No More Mutants." and that was it. The mutant population was reduced to 198 members worldwide and saw the death of thousands as when their powers vanished they died unable to live or died due to them using their powers e.g. mutant mid flight when powers went. She could be the ace in the hole if Apocalypse wins and defeats the X-Men.

Forge

Forge
Forge

Forge is the X-Man to visit if something of yours breaks, well that is if it is a piece of technology. He can build any machine he can conceive be them for the good of mutant kind or not. At one point in the comics he was forced to build a gun that made a mutant loose their powers if they were hit, the first victim was Storm! He has even made time travel machines and machines that create portals to alternate dimensions. Even though his powers are not an active field power he has also always proven to be helpful in battle pulling out all sorts of gizmo or weapons he had created in his lab earlier.

Domino

Domino
Domino

OK I am the first to admit a name like Domino does not exactly strike terror in your heart, but the problem with Domino is she is extremely difficult to touch let alone kill unless she wants you to. He powers involve her shifting probability into her favour, so if you shoot a gun at her she is going to dodge it as probability is always on her side. Add to that her skills with a gun she also always hits her target. It would be pretty cool to see her hanging off the side of a building by her legs, taking aim at her target and then firing. She is an action girl through and through. Like many others in the list she was also a member of X-Force and considering the sort of missions they go on having her probability powers on their side could be very helpful.

Jean Grey

Jean Grey
Jean Grey

OK, it is not like she is a new character. However given the fact they are altering the past in X-Men Days of Futures Past maybe they will use it a chance to just make X-Men The Last Stand just not have happened. Then they could deliver on the Phoenix properly in a later instalment of the franchise. The Phoenix we saw in The Last Stand is just unforgivable especially after the effort to show the fires of the Phoenix in X2 as a hint of it coming. Then they would also be able to plan to introduce the Shi'ar empire and show another aspect of what else is out in space in the Marvel Universe given that Marvel are giving us Guardians of the Galaxy.

Who would you like to see come in to future X-Men films?
