John Green's insanely successful YA novel, The Fault In Our Stars, is finally getting its big screen moment and, apparently, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort share moments intimate enough to make the writer weep!
In a recent interview with the cast and crew of the YA movie, everyone was asked who cried the most on set, and everyone pointed to one person. John Greed admitted:
Definitely me. I cried a lot. I cried almost everyday.
The author continued:
I cried because it was really overwhelming to me that all these really talented people were bringing so much passion and so much talent to the story that I’d written and giving it a new life.
So it wasn't because Green was really sad, but more like the way parents weep at high school graduations. This rush of happy tears sounds so commonplace for the 36-year-old writer as he watched the shooting of his 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, that it's now got me itching to see the movie.
The Fault In Our Stars Hazel Grace Lancaster (Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Elgort), two teenagers who survived cancer, who meet in a support group and fall in love. Both have a lot in common: they are kind of precocious, for instance, and both share a fascination with An Imperial Affliction, a novel dealing with cancer. It makes only sense that Augustus decides to take Hazel on a trip to Amsterdam, where the author of the novel lives. The objective of said voyage: to get answers to the big questions!
Wow, that synopsis just hits me right in the feelings. I am so prepared to cry my eyes out when I see this movie. What about you kids?
The Fault In Our Stars arrives in theaters June 6, 2014.
