Gerard Butler signed on to a sequel for Olympus has Fallen last week and it seems now that the shooting schedule has conflicted with the upcoming Point Break remake. Butler was on board (pun intended) to play the Zen-like surfer Bodhi, a role made famous by Patrick Swayze back in Kathryn Bigelow's original in 1991.

As THR sees it:

Sources say that the parting of ways occurred because of a confluence of factors. There have been creative differences and a scheduling conflict: Point Break will start shooting in late June, lasting several months, and will take its actors to international locales. But Butler also has on his docket London Has Fallen, the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, which shoots in the fall in London.

So Gerard Butler's odd career rolls on. We'd feel for the guy but it's just difficult to see this one being anything but terrible whoever they end up getting to ride the waves. Of course, feel free to disagree in the comments below.

Point Break is set to shoot sometime this June
