The countdown for season 5 of [The Walking Dead](series:201193) started for me on March 30th, right after I watched the season finale. It's hard isn't it to have to wait until October? It's kinda of like waiting to open your presents on Christmas morning when you were a kid.
I can't wait to see what happens, the anticipation is killing me!
One of my main "off season" shows that I watch is Game of Thrones. I get engrossed in the Kingdom of Westeros and following all the different houses and their story lines. Recently while watching the second episode of season four of Game of Thrones titled "The Lion and the Rose", I found myself taken back with a reference that I felt like pays homage to The Walking Dead.
I watched this scene over and over again to make sure that I heard it right. In the episode King Joffrey is about to get married and he is at a special celebration where he is being given presents from family and friends. His Grandfather, Lord Tywin Lannister gives him a sword. After he destroys a book given to him by his uncle with the sword, he asks his party guests to name the sword for him.
Watch the clip below and listen to the second name that is suggested for the sword:
Now I must state that I haven't read the book series A Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martin on which the show Game of Thrones is based so I don't know if the sword naming is mentioned in the book.
However I find it interesting that Terminus the exact location where The Walking Dead ended this past season is mentioned in the naming of a sword on Game of Thrones.
I could be reading too much into it or maybe I'm not the only one waiting for The Walking Dead to return. Maybe the writers of Game of Thrones are looking forward to seeing Rick take care of business and deal with those "termites"!
What do you think, was it just a coincidence?
