"Go, Go Power Rangers!"

Lionsgate has partnered with Saban Brands to bring Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back to the big screen.

It has been 21 years since the television series premiered and has continued to produce multiple spinoffs, most recently Power Rangers Megaforce, which are still popular with children, and possibly adults who will deny it, today.

Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level," said Saban. "They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from 'The Hunger Games' to 'Twilight' and 'Divergent.' In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own.

Two previous films, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie in 1995 and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie in 1997, were released by 20th Century Fox.Jason David Frank, who has not shied away from his role as Tommy Oliver, reported he had a hand in rebooting the franchise, but it may not have gone exactly the way he wanted. He posted a photo of Lionsgate's and Saban Brand's phone numbers on his Facebook page with this message:

Here you all team Lion gates numbers and emails haha. What's PR with some OG cast members. And where is my green ranger series? Haha I've pushed for this but a reboot with new people lol. Oh well. I'll still promote my brand. Sucks to someone else in my spandex haha. Saban and lion gates band together !!! It's official. There goes the self made fan movie MMPR fan film. JDF

Odds are, he'll end up getting a cameo. What do you all think of the Power Rangers receiving a reboot?
