Today, Marvel officially announced that the TV show Agent Carter, previously stated as being in early development will be airing on ABC under the title "Marvel's Agent Carter."

The show was described earlier to be based around agent Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers' love interest from Captain America: The First Avenger played by Hayley Atwell who molds the founding and organization of S.H.I.E.L.D with help from Howard Stark (before the birth of his superhero of a son).

Agent Carter has been consistently mentioned as a working development, so though the announcement isn't a complete surprise, it is certainly good to know plans for the show are proceeding forward and it will definitely be an upcoming series!

This announcement came alongside confirmation of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D returning for a second season this coming fall season.

With so many easter eggs and hints to the founding days of S.H.I.E.L.D during the recent course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could we be seeing a huge array of easter eggs to previously existing movies with Marvel's Agent Carter? I sure hope so! I mean, after all, this is Marvel Studios: the King of Easter Eggs!
