Much like how Captain America: The First Avenger gave us a glimpse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe of the 1940's with Hydra, Arnum Zola, Red Skull, Cap, Bucky and The Howling Commandoes, will Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie give us a glimpse of the MCU of the 60's?

We know Michael Douglas will play the older Hank Pym in the present day and Paul Rudd will be the Scott Lang version of Ant-Man, but what will we see in the flashbacks to the 60's?

Let's take a look at who was around in 1962...

Howard Stark
Howard Stark

Tony's father- Howard Stark would have been in his late 40's early 50's in 1962. He was a founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. They should have Dominic Cooper at least do a cameo in the flashbacks to establish the relationship between Stark and Pym. Perhaps Stark would have funded Pym's research into shrinking/expanding of matter and mass (Pym Particles)

Simon Williams - Owner of Williams' Innovations would have been Stark's biggest rival company at that time. They could have Pym working with Williams to develop Ionic energy weapons, which makes Williams into Wonder Man (accidentally.)

Peggy Carter would also be in her 40's at this time. Perhaps a cameo for her as well, since she was also working for S.H.I.E.L.D. at this time.

Then of course there are the other suits that Pym created:

Giant Man - This may be one of the prototype suits that Pym works on in the 60's before deciding on the Ant-Man suit. His strength would increase geometrically as his size/mass increase.

YellowJacket - This suit may actually be the villain of the movie. It has the same shrinking abilities as the Ant-Man suit but has the Bio-Sting offensive weaponry of Wasp's suit.

It will be interesting to see if Evangeline Lilly will be wearing the Wasp suit in this movie or not.

I think the Flashbacks to the 1960's would be great to expand Marvel's CU much the same way X-Men: First Class brought us the X-Men CU of the 60's. If the movie does well, there may be a prequel showing the younger Hank Pym as Ant-Man in action as played (perhaps?) by Patrick Wilson.

The young Hank Pym?

So, What do you think?

Should they do a movie set in the 1960's with a Young Hank Pym?
