It's a matter of mere days now before we'll see X-Men: Days of Future Past hit the big screen, and we're hoping the combination of both lead casts from X-Men and X-Men: First Class will make for one hell of a mash-up. But at the same time, we're also wondering what Fox has in store for their future Marvel installments with the characters.

Luckily for us, then, X-Men: Days of Future Past producers Lauren Shuler-Donner and Hutch Parker talked about extending the X-franchise in their most recent interview. Although rumors indicate that Apocalypse won't feature the cast from the first three films, Shuler Donner and Parker say that "it's always possible" that the original cast will return for another movie. They also spoke of possibly doing a solo Gambit movie as well as a Deadpool film making its way to the big screen.

See for yourselves!

Sounds like Fox has big plans for how to continue the X-Men franchise, and I sincerely hope that Hugh Jackman is with them.

Would you be happy if the cast of 2000's X-Men returned to the big screen some time after X-Men: Apocalypse, and which mutant character would you like to see stand on their own on the big screen? Would you prefer it if Fox introduced some fresh, young faces in?

X-Men: Days of Future Past open in theaters come May 23 and X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.
