Once again, Terry Gilliam's troubled production Man Who Killed Don Quixote has hit an obstacle on its way to the screen. Robert Duvall, who had been lined up to take the titular role, recently admitted to ComingSoon that:

"Terry Gilliam has said that he wants me to come to Spain to play Don Quixote in his movie. I don't know if it will ever come to be. I don't think that's going to happen."

For once, though, Gilliam seems to have a solution to the problem ready and waiting - John Hurt is reportedly set to step into the windmill-tilting Spaniard's boots

Hurt was speaking at a Q&A as part of the Derby Film Festival, and according to a source in attendance, revealed that:

"Terry Gilliam has asked [him] to star as Don Quixote in the long-delayed, oft-cancelled film of the same name, and hopes to start filming this year."

It's been a long road even to get to this point, so there are still no guarantees that we'll ever actually see Gilliam's long term passion project on screen. Recent news that he's looking into crowd-funding the project, though, and that filming is due to begin in 2015, at least suggest that it's a legitimate possibility. Could we even see Johnny Depp revisit his interest in playing Sancho Panza?

What do you guys think? Will we ever see Man who Killed Don Quixote on the big screen? Let me know below!
