There has been talk about a sequel to the 2010 remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street for a while now, and I'd like to know whether or not YOU think it would be a good idea!
Some people like Jackie Earle Haley's interpretation of the infamous dream stalker, but not too many! I personally found that the remake was watchable, and not as awful as many people have claimed. Saying this, it is NO WHERE near the quality of the original 1984 classic, with the overuse of jump scares, poor casting and bad dialogue. I mean, Freddy even said some of the lines from the original.... There were even exact carbon copy scenes from the original tossed in!
There has been a trailer made for A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2 (2016), but there is no IMDB page for the movie so we can safely say there is nothing official yet. Judging from this trailer it's a good thing, because it makes Jackie Earle Haley look like he was born for the role!
Don't worry guys, I'm pretty sure it's fake. (Well at least I hope it is!)
So I would say, If A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) was it's own original movie, then it wasn't too damn awful. Some may even say it was semi decent, but the fact is it's not an original movie.
So would you want a sequel?
Would you want to see a direct remake of the original 1985 A Nightmare On Elm Street Freddy's Revenge, OR would you like to see the franchise taken in a completely different direction?
DYK? - The original Elm Street Part 2 was labelled "The most unintentionally gay horror movie ever made?" It was also labelled one of the worst installments in the franchise! - I personally love it and think it gets far too much hate, so if a remake HAD to be done, I'd be rooting for a remake of the original script and not have the story line veer off into obscurity like Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween 2!
So what do you think - Would you like see a sequel to the 2010 Elm remake? Or should they just stop messing with the classics! Tell me in the comments below :)
