Today was just a normal day right? Sure we got Batsuits and mobiles, but everything else was normal right? Nope.

Today Star Wars Episode VII started principal photography in the Abu Dhabi desert. Did someone say Tatooine? Yep, Eric Eisenberg over at CinemaBlend. Here is what Mr. Eisenberg had to say:

A report from Abu Dhabi's English newspaper The National says that J.J. Abrams and his Star Wars: Episode VII cast and crew are going to set up camp in the Middle Eastern nation's desert on Tuesday May 13th to film sequences for the upcoming 2015 blockbuster.

Head over there for the full article. I just thought it'd be fun to check in with some of the tweeters in the cast, see who might be out in the outer rim. Not John Boyega apparently. He sent this tweet this morning-

Is @JBoyega using the Jedi Mind Trick on us?
Is @JBoyega using the Jedi Mind Trick on us?

Mr. Boyega followed that up with-

So maybe he isn't on Tatooine..
So maybe he isn't on Tatooine..

How about Carrie Fisher? Will she be under the twin suns?

I'd be interested to know where this is...
I'd be interested to know where this is...

So maybe not. It's worth noting that the start of photography on the original movie was plagued by bad weather and Episode I was hit by severe weather at the start of its desert based shoot so maybe this is code...

How about one of the droids?

Clearly enjoying some downtime...

If Mr. Daniels has time for classic movies I doubt he is on the call sheet. Now for the most likely candidate. Mr. Mark Hamill. He sent this tweet today.

Hmmmm
Hmmmm

Now this tweet could have been sent from anywhere in the world. There is no location information on this tweet. No teases, nothing.

I guess the short answer is there is no indication who, if any of our core cast, is on location for the first day of principal photography. But it's fun to have this kind of insight on a in-production Star Wars movie! That's never happened before. I wonder if the Star Wars team are prepared for the potential leaks over twitter etc? Well I'm not in a hurry to spoil anything for anyone, myself included, so rest assured that this feed and Movie Geeks Film News will be a safe place for Star Wars news.
