Three things that you (probably) didn't know about Stephen King.

IT (1990)
IT (1990)

1) You may remember that King was hit by a van not far from his home in 1999. His injuries included a collapsed lung, a broken hip, a gash to the head and a leg broken in nine places.

Afterward, King and his lawyer bought the van from the owner for $1,500 and when King was better, he whaled on it with a baseball bat before sending it to be crushed at a junkyard.

Carrie (1976)

2) Of the five people in the immediate King family, four of them are authors.

Tabitha, Stephen's wife has seven published novels. Joe, King's oldest son is also a horror writer. Owen, Stephen's youngest son has written a collection of short stories and also has one novel.

Cujo (1983)
Cujo (1983)

3) Stephen King had a pretty serious drug and alcohol problem in the 80's.

King says that he doesn't remember writing Cujo at all, and that he really wishes he could! He also claimed that whilst he was directing ' Maximum Overdrive ' that he was "coked out of my mind" - When asked why he hasn't directed a movie since, he replied "Just watch Maximum Overdrive!"
