Daniel Radcliffe's new movie, What If, is slightly older than 'coming of age' romantic comedy that depicts him as a hopeless romantic struggling to make his way back into the world post break up.From the clip we can see comedic, romantic and perhaps some darker tones.

Check it out below:

Radcliffe in the process of getting over an ex, meets a girl and gets stuck in the 'friend zone' despite wanting more. The title, What If, leads me to believe the rest of that phrase would be 'we weren't just friends.'

From what we can see, I think that Radcliffe is quite competent of carrying something like this off. He has the timing, evident also in Ricky Gervais' Extras.

I'm expecting a charming indie rom-com that, with any luck, takes a few unexpected turns and gives Radcliffe a chance to, again with any luck, show us a different side of his acting talents.

What If opens August 1st 2014
