I think fans of Asian horror need not look any further than the upcoming Rigor Mortis, a new bleak horror directed by Juno Mak and produced by The Grudge director, Takashi Shimizu.

From the looks of the first trailer, Rigor Mortis combines a chilling, dark atmosphere with martial arts and nightmare inducing special effects. Check out the trailer below:

Well Go USA provided us with the following synopsis and press release:

A washed-up actor, desperate and suicidal, moves into a haunted Hong Kong apartment housing tower where supernatural creatures, ghost hunters, taoist exorcists, and the souls of the undead walk among his neighbors.
An eerie, chilling homage to the classic Chinese vampire movies of the 1980s, RIGOR MORTIS is the directorial debut of Hong Kong film maverick Juno Mak. Co-produced by J-Horror icon Takashi Shimizu, the film reunites some of the original cast members of the classic MR. VAMPIRE series.

Rigor Mortis is to enjoy a limited theatrical release in the USA from June 6th, while it will also be available to everyone on demand. You'll be able to catch it one the big screen in the following locations: New York (Village East), Los Angeles (AMC Atlantic Time Square 14), San Francisco (AMC Metreon), San Diego (Gas Lamp 15), Seattle (AMC Pacific Place 11), and Honolulu (Pearlrige West 16).

I've certainly been left impressed by the trailer, but what do you think? Let us know below.
