Just to be clear, this is NOT a Top 10 List. These are just several movies that are underrated to me...except for a select few that I find to be the most underrated.

1. Star Wars Revenge of the Sith

I'm not saying this movie is perfect. Some of the dialogue between Anakin and Padme is laughable, there are some boring moments, and Hayden Christensen is not great...until he becomes Darth Vader. There are some good things about this movie as well such as the action; seems like Lucas decided to go all out with the action in this one to make up for the lack of action in that atrocity known as Attack of the Clones. The battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan is one of my favorite fight scenes ever, Yoda against Sidious is amazing, the scene of the Jedi Order falling is actually kind of sad to watch, Ewan McGregor is the best choice for Obi-Wan, the Emperor, while VERY over the top, was actually a pretty cool villain. I wouldn't put this as my favorite Star Wars film, that slot goes to Return of the Jedi.

9. The Rescuers Down Under

The first Rescuers movie is still enjoyable to me but it is a little dry is places and pretty slow sometimes. THIS movie decides to up the ante with everything: the animaton? Beautiful. The characters? Enjoyable. Bernard is one of my all time favorite Disney characters. The Villain? McLeach is not only hilarious but threatening as well. The Music? Amazing. The Comedy? Hilarious. If you haven't seen this film: check it out on Netflix. It's one of my all time favorite Disney films...although it's interesting that no one is Australia except for one character has an Australian accent.

8. The Brave Little Toaster

Before Toy Story, there was The Brave Little Toaster. Yet another Disney film from my childhood that no one ever talks about and I can't help but be confused as to why. This movie has probably one of the best cast of characters ever: Toaster, Lampy, Blanket, Kirby the Vacuum, and Radio are so enjoyable, likable, funny, that you can't not love them. The story is fun and sometimes pretty dark, the soundtrack is one of my favorites, and the animation is actually pretty good. Please check this movie out, you won't regret it. It's a movie that get's better every time I see it.

7. Godzilla 2000

Godzilla 2000 was what the 1998 movie SHOULD have been. Godzilla looks great, the effects got a lot better, the villain monster is one of my all time favorites, and the action is actually pretty cool. Plus this movie gave us one of my favorite faces ever which I turned into a meme:

6. Willow

Legend, Krull, Labyrinth, and the Dark Crystal are NOTHING compared to Willow (in my opinion), the film is fun, comedic, epic, dark, etc. Val Kilmer's character is one of my favorite fantasy heroes and Warwick Davis proves to be a really good actor in this film.

5. Predators

Even though the trailer LIED to us by teasing over a dozen predators, this movie is still awesome and my favorite of the trilogy. Yes it is a sequel because they reference the first movie in one scene. Lots of great tributes and homages to the first film, the characters while not as memorable as the squad in the first movie are still cool characters. Adrian Brody shows that he can do action pretty well, Topher Grace isn't too bad here, and the action was really good. I shouldn't be surprised that the practical and CGI effects are good because Greg Nicotero was in charge of that department.

4. The Lone Ranger

When this first came out, so many people hated it but now I've met quite a few people that really enjoy this movie. I never saw it in theaters but when I saw it, I thought was a really fun western that was actually pretty dark and gritty. I had no problem with Johnny Depp as Tonto, he's part Native American, and he was initiated into that tribe for this movie so if Native Americans have no problem with him then I don't. Armie Hammer did a good job as John Reid, he had a good arc except for one moment that was kind of douchey. William Fichtner was a really enjoyable villain and...that ending fight with the William Tell Overture playing is probably in my Top 20 favorite fight scenes ever. There are a few flaws with this movie: it is a little too long and sometimes the physics were ridiculous. I know a lot of people didn't like a lot of the dark stuff like the Comanche getting killed by the Calvary or the strip club scene or...Butch Cavendish eating a heart and saying it's too dark for kids. Well this movie wasn't made just for kids, it was also for adults. The Wild West wasn't always pretty, it was pretty dark and gruesome back them. That's how I view it, but if people don't like the film well they are missing out.

3. Sucker Punch

Yet another film people hated but I really enjoyed. Many say this movie was just an excuse to show off hot women...I disagree. This is actually an interesting film. The whole movie was in the main character's head, the men at the hospital were treating the women like sex toys and so in her mind she saw everything like a whore-house, then when she needed to fight she would hallucinate even more that she was in an epic battle. Personally I loved the movie and hope it gets more of a cult following in the future.

2. Batman Beyond The Return of the Joker

In my last article I briefly spoke about this film and said that it holds a special place in my heart and I meant it. I never cared for the Batman Beyond show because to me it seemed like DC's ripoff of Spider-Man but the film however was a fantastic special that brought back fan favorite Mark Hamill as the Joker. It gave us some cool action, the darkest flashback you will ever see, and great animation.

1. Speed Racer

With the rest of the movies on this list, I can understand why people might not like them...but this one just baffles me. I not only enjoy this movie I LOOOOVE this movie. I will defend it until the day that I die. Many arguments I hear is that the film is too bright and colorful: well unless you are epileptic I really don't see that as a problem. Other say it's nothing like the anime and for that one I don't really think that's true. The strange locations, the designs, the characters: they all resemble an anime to me. The actors are all perfect replicants of the show's characters. The Races in this movie are a spectacle to watch, you can't deny that. The only flaw I can find with the film is Spritle and that dumb monkey but they were a flaw in the original show as well. I love this movie and it gave us one of the coolest songs ever:

What else can I say other than:

Go Speed Racer (go)
Go Speed Racer (go)
Go Speed Racer, go
Mach go, go, go
Go Speed Racer (go)
Go Speed Racer (go)
Go Speed Racer, go
(Mach go, go, go)

Do you agree with any of my choices?
