While RPattz is doing pretty well for himself on the movie front - with both The Rover and Maps to the Stars debuting at the Cannes Film Festival - he now also has his eye on chart stardom.

A new album wouldn't be the first time fans would hear Pattinson's vocal abilities: He contributed songs to the Twilight soundtrack titled "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign" and has also done songs for the How to Be soundtrack.

So, could us lucky fans be awaiting a Robert Pattinson solo album anytime soon and, if so, will Rob be "Taylor Swifting" himself with songs of his heartbreak after splitting from ex-lover Kristen Stewart?

Well, although nothing is set in stone, the actor's good pal Brady Corbet revealed that the 28-year-old has recently "been busy producing his first album, which will be coming soon."

And we haven't forgotten that in his 2008 interview with the L.A. Times, Pattinson did say that "Music is my backup plan if acting fails."

The on and off-screen Twilight couple famously split in 2012, after rumors that KStew was cheating on RPattz with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. So, can we perhaps expect some revenge songs thrown into the mix for good measure?

Let's just pray - for Rob's sake and our own - that when he does unleash music upon us it's a little bit more proffessional than...THIS:

Still exciting for Rob's upcoming new album? Let me know below!
