Comedy stars Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are set to reunite in a new touching comedy film directed by none other than Richard Linklater. The film, titled [Larry's Kidney](movie:1427474), will be a big screen adaptation of author, Daniel Asa Rose's, memoirs.
According to BookTheWriter.com, Ferrell is down to play author Daniel Asa Rose, while Galifianakis will take on the role of Larry. If you want to know what the film's actually about, well, you need to look no further than the original title of the book: Larry's Kidney: Being the True Story of How I Found Myself in China With my Black Sheep Cousin and His Mail-Order Bride, Skirting the Law to Get Him a Transplant ... and Save His Life. I think that pretty much explains it.
The book, which combines equal parts tragedy and comedy, was named one of the 'top books of the year' by Publishers Weekly when it released in 2009. Personally, I think it sounds like the perfect vehicle for Linklater as well as Ferrell and Galifianakis, who will be reuniting after appearing together in Warner Bros. political comedy, The Campaign.
The film will be produced by Scott Aversano via his Aversano Films banner. Production was expected to start in spring, but it's currently unclear if that schedule was maintained.
