The conclusion to an amazing rebooted trilogy, Amazing Spider-Man 3 is set for a 2016 release. But is there another Spidey film due for next year?
According to the latest reports, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield has been offered a multi-million dollar deal to play Spidey until 2020 and he's also contracted to appear in movies in 2015 and 2016!
A senior source at Columbia Pictures, which jointly owns the franchise with Marvel Entertainment, reportedly claimed that:
Andrew is already contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016... But we are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying... The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses... He is even being offered a box office profit-sharing deal to stay in the Spidey suit for another six years.
I'm taking this tabloid new with a pinch of salt, but if it turns out to be true, does this mean that the long-gestating Sinister Six movie could arrive on our big screens before The Amazing Spider-Man 3? Or,
With ASM 3 supposedly shooting this fall, there could be a small chance they move up the release date to late 2015? Could it even be possible that we might see Garfield's Spidey pop up somewhere in the Eddie Brock spin-off we've all been waiting for, Venom?
Chuck your Spidey theories in the comment section below, guys, because someone's gotta figure out what's going on here...
Don't forget - The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is in theaters now.
