Paranoid survivalist. Wanted fugitive. Damned soul. Meet the newest member of the Justice League: Jessica Cruz, a.k.a. Power Ring! With the most dangerous weapon in the universe in her possession, Jessica has been transformed into a dark prophet – one who will force the other members of the League to confront their greatest fears in preparation for a horrific new threat. Meanwhile, Batman and Lex Luthor continue their mission to cure the world of super-villains – but will the extremes they’re willing to go to threaten even their closest allies? Lex hopes so.

Not much is known about this new character in the New 52, but what I care about is girl power. Sometimes, the greatest heroes are the ones who start off as villains or vice versa (Anakin to Vader). I'm interested to read about this character, since there has been no other Lantern on the League recently. Plus, she will add diversity.

Judging from the camouflage on the costume, it looks as if she were in a military before. If I were to modify the costume, I would make the logo look much better. That eye cover looks to villain-ish.

Jessica in the DC Cinematic Universe

This character could be introduced in [Batman vs. Superman](movie:711870). Let's say her origin is played around with and instead of getting the ring after Harold Jordan of Earth-3 is killed, she gets the corrupted "elite" ring that the Guardians (of the Universe, not Galaxy) made. Just write an origin that does not take place after the Forever Evil storyline. So, Lex Luthor will be in the [Man of Steel](movie:15593) sequel and I hope the movie is similar to the Public Enemies story.

Lex Luthor manipulated the world (as president) to capture Superman for crimes against the United States and offered a huge reward to anyone who could capture him. Batman defends Supes in a huge ambush outside STAR Labs. We see many, many, many villains fight the World's Finest. We see Gorilla Grodd controlling some as well. The 5 characters under Lex's authority seem to save the two, but they actually were there to take them. Captain Atom says that he works for the law and the nation.

Now, Jessica could easily replace Starfire or just be part of the fight in some way.

Is it likely?

It's still to early to tell, but new characters are being made as I speak. There's already three people cast in Batman vs Superman as new characters.

Of course, there's so many other Green Lanterns to choose from, one of the best being John Stewart. There's always room for sidekicks, right?
