It’s been a question that has been on my mind since the 2nd trailer dropped for this heavy hitter of a film. [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) is set to bridge the gap between two worlds, the X-Men: First Class cast and the “present” day X-Men cast. Will Director Byran Singer and cast be able to pull it off?
This new X-Men film is said to reset the franchise. Right certain wrongs of previous films and possibly open the door for endless possibilities. Considering the risk, Singer has taken note and will go for it anyway. Sure it could most certainly flop. The film could fold under the weight of a over-crowded cast. However, it worked for Marvel Studios. Sony is jumping on the band wagon with its Spider-Man franchise with upcoming releases Sinister Six movie and a Venom Spin-off. So why shouldn't Fox try the same formula with its most successful property? I for one think it’s a bold move. Something of this magnitude hasn't been done before in a film, and hey what if it DOES work? What if Days of Future Past opens and sets all kinds of records? It most definitely has the potential to. Cast and director have said this to be the biggest and best X-Men film to date. And just to think if it IS successful there is nowhere to go but up. Spin-offs and sequels will be made. Bolder moves will be made for upcoming films. It's all very exciting to think about.
Well my fellow movie lovers only time will tell as we are days away from the US Release and I couldn't be more anxious and hopeful. I’ll be sure to catch this opening weekend and will be sharing my thoughts positive or negative on Monday. But to answer my question, YES I do think it will live up to the hype. What about you?
