Veteran poster artist Drew Struzan has been called upon by JJ Abrams to do the poster art for [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158). This makes for a very good news day for me as this adds, yet another, legend from the original series into the mix. The artist has defined movie art for over thirty years and it will be great to see him, out of retirement for one last job.

Drew Struzan, whether you realize it or not, has been a huge part of your childhood, adulthood and pretty much any hood which involved you watching movies in mass quantities. His work ranges from The Shawshank Redemption to Blade Runner to, and perhaps most importantly, Star Wars. His distinctly iconic hand painted posters are what make you want to see the movies. He tells you the story and cultivates the feeling of the movie with a painting; not bad.

Check out some of his work below:

Star Wars Episode VII will be released December 18 2015.

So, have any of you got a Drew Struzan on your wall?
