Now, as I'm sure (hope) you're all aware, the second trailer for the upcoming Marvel film [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) launched yesterday, and if you haven't seen it yet, then I'm not sure why you haven't clicked that link up there yet.
Shortly after the trailer released, a live Q&A was held with the cast and crew. There were a lot of laughs and good times, but most importantly, people asked important questions we care about. Here's a bunch of awesome things we learned...
#1 The Guardians will NOT be in Avengers: Age of Ultron
Granted, most of us figured as much, but it was nice of director James Gunn to confirm this. To be honest, they'd probably steal the show, anyway. I mean have you seen Rocket Raccoon doing things yet?!
Of course, I wouldn't dare ask anyone who they think would win a fight.
#2 Drax would beat Hulk in a fight (?)
Wow, OK. At least that's what Dave Bautista (who plays Drax) claims. They were also asked who would win in a head-to-head fight: [The Avengers](movie:9040) or the [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073)? The cast and crew just laughed...
If we're really going to argue about this (a difficult task considering the film doesn't come out until August), I GUESS I'll put a poll at the end of this post.
#3 Not all of the songs from Star-Lord's mix tape made it into the movie
The premise here is that Peter Quill/Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt) was a young boy on Earth in the 80s, and the only thing he has left from his home planet is a mix tape filled with classic songs. We've heard some of them in the trailers (including the ubiquitous "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede), but Gunn explained that while the mix tape exists in real life, they didn't put all of the songs into the movie itself.
He did, however, tease that one of the "deleted" songs is "Magic" by Pilot. All I'm saying is they need to have at least one song from the Thriller album.
#4 The film runs at about 2 hours
No big surprise here that the movie will hover around the same runtime as a typical Marvel/Comic book film. I know many of you (like me) wish it was about six hours long, but that's what sequels are for (we'll get to that, BTW).
#5 The movie may tie in with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
James Gunn was asked directly whether or not Guardians would be referenced or crossed over with the ABC Marvel show, [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](series:722469) He answered with a maybe, which probably means yes considering the show has been trying to be inclusive with every Marvel movie thus far.
My money is on a secondary or even tertiary character showing up in the show. At the very least, they could have one of the different alien species showing up on Earth or something.
#6 We can expect sequels
If the first Guardians of the Galaxy does well enough, Gunn is "contractually obliged" to do multiple sequels. In other words: convince everyone you know to go watch this on August 1st so we can get a [Guardians of the Galaxy 2](movie:1081113).
OK, who would *really* win in a fight between the Avengers and the Guardians?
