J.J. Abrams has just released a new Star Wars: Episode VII set video which is sure to excite Star Wars fans thrice over!

Firstly, it gives us our first official look at a Star Wars set (in Abu Dhabi in this case), secondly it shows us the first official look at a Star Wars alien made up with (presumably) practical effects, and thirdly it explains how YOU could win a chance to appear in [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158).

Disney is currently launching a new charitable initiative with UNICEF's Innovation Labs titled 'Star Wars: Force for Change'. It aims to raise money to aid children around the world through selling sweepstake donations on From these donations, one lucky winner will be selected and given the opportunity to visit a galaxy far, far away - or more specifically, London's Pinewood Studios. Check out the video below:

Pretty awesome, right?

All the various rules and regulations can be read over in the Youtube description - including, for some reason, a rule which forbids Belgians from applying - however, the Grand Prize description is available below:

The Star Wars: Force for Change Grand Prize includes:
  • Airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest
  • Behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams
  • Winner will have the opportunity to meet members of the cast
  • Winner and their guest will then be transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII

If you want to donate and give yourself the chance of winning a once in a lifetime opportunity then make sure to head over to

I know what you're thinking: "I'll never actually win". Well, today I discovered I won 100 Euros in a prize draw ran by my bank, and I didn't even know I entered a competition! So don't give up hope, donate to a good cause and cross your fingers! Remember, you've got to be in it to win it!

So, what did you think of the first, non-CGI alien we've seen for Star Wars: Episode VII? Let us know below.
