On the heels of the news that Lionsgate has signed a six picture deal with WWE Studios, it has been announced that the first film on the schedule is an action movie directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary, Dead Hooker in a Trunk). Starring Paul Wright, a.k.a. WWE wrestler, The Big Show, Vendetta will tell the story of a cop who commits murder in order to go to jail and seek revenge against his wife's murderer. The Soska Sisters already have a connection with WWE, in that they recently finished the sequel to See No Evil, starring Kane.

This isn't the first time that Lionsgate and WWE Studios have collaborated: they previously produced The Condemned and the first See No Evil film. The WWE also produced Dead Man Down and No One Lives, two movies that I actually enjoyed. So while it's understandable to be skeptical, I may try to reserve judgement... A little.
