For those of you who are as excited as I am for 2016's Batman vs. Superman, I've got big news for all you readers out there. The official title for the film has been revealed!!!
The film will be titled Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
While we have seen Batman in Christopher Nolan's most recent Dark Knight Trilogy, and Superman in director Zack Snyder's recent 2013 superhero film Man of Steel, this will be the first time that the two heroes join forces on screen.
While the main plot points of the film have not been released yet, the cast has already started listing. The cast as of right now are as follows:
- Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
- Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman
- Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor
- Amy Adams as Lois Lane
- Laurence Fishburne as Perry White
- Jeremy Irons as Alfred
- Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman
- Diane Lane as Martha Kent
- Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg
And this will be the assumed second installment in what is to be called the DC Cinematic Universe, which is sort of a reflection of what Marvel is doing with the already successful Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. But this universe will focus on setting up an upcoming Justice League film which is a clue that ventures through the title of the film.
Will they ever cross the line against The Avengers? Hmm. That's a question that needs an answer. But that's for another story. In some cases, one could argue that The Avengers was the one that started the whole superhero team-up film deal.
So what do you think about the new title for Batman v. Superman? Do you like it? What do you think about the DC Cinematic Universe? As always, please comment below.
