Olivier Assayas is bringing Clouds of Sils Maria to Cannes this year, one of the starriest debuts in the 2014 competition.

In Clouds of Sils Maria Juliette Binoche plays a fading cinematic icon whose equilibrium is upset by an up-and-coming young actor (played by Chloe Grace Moretz). Binoche's character then retreats to the mountains with her loyal assistant, Kristin Stewart.

The first beautiful clip below illuminates Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche's characters' complicated relationship, while the second introduces the brilliantly cast Chloe Grace Moretz. Check them out and see what you think:

It looks like Assayas has been busy applying his aching subtlety and character-driven angle to his subjects. His grasp on the individual’s struggle is always riveting and Clouds of Sils Maria looks like it'll be no different.

Are you looking forward to this Cannes entry? Who thinks Kristen is really in danger of being squashed by the formidable Binoche's performance?
