Many fans of the Mirage Studios comics, the 90s films, and the various animated iterations have lamented the recently released trailers for Jonathan Liebesman's (Wrath of the Titans, Battle Los Angeles) upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptation. While the prospect of a new outing with everyone's favorite masked reptiles is exciting, everything from the troubled production stories - Michael Bay changing their origin from mutants to aliens and back during pre-production - to the all-too-human faces bordering dangerously close to the uncanny valley has left those more vocal fans worried at best, going into a Raphael-worthy rage at worst.

He's dead... so very, very dead.
He's dead... so very, very dead.

That being said I've never been a stickler for original source material reverence, provided what we do get is able to stand on its own as a coherent, enjoyable, quality film.

Either way, Entertainment Weekly's latest issue has seen fit to release several new images showing us clear, crisp concepts of all four Ninja Turtles! They're close-ups depicting the Turtles in action, and really give us a feel for their personalities, and exactly what they'll look like when not being viewed through blurry and dimly-lit settings, much like the recent trailers have provided - which is another thing that worries me about the new film.

Regardless, enjoy the pics and let me know what you think of this new take on TMNT in the comments below!
