David S. Goyer, the man responsible for the current D.C. comic movie as we know it and lightening rod for controversy, will have one of his original ideas turned into a film via Focus Features and Getty Images. Focus Features picked up the North American rights to [The Forest](movie:1166888). Directed by Jason Zada with a script from Sarah Cornwell, The Forest is a supernatural thriller set in the Aokigahara forest of Japan. This forest is known for being a place where people go to end their lives. A young woman comes to the forest looking for her missing twin sister, ignores all warnings from locals and searches for the truth about her sister.
David S. Goyer is the man who infamously stated that "I think She-Hulk is the chick you could f*ck if you were Hulk...She-Hulk was the extension of the male power fantasy". At this point, I simply choose not to finish his thought on this particular topic so as not to immediately turn some people against him.
The premise of The Forest is intriguing and I choose to focus on the potential good and not the unfortunate spontaneous remark Goyer recently made. Set for a January 2016 release date, watch this space for more updates.
