There has been an uproar of late concerning the new title for the upcoming Batman/Superman movie. The title?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

"Eww, no! It sucks, it's terrible, Go life is over!!!"

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's be rational and analyze why the higher-ups chose the title.

"They don't care about the fans; it's all about the Benjamins!"

Well no, not exactly. Gaze away, dear readers, while I explain the three reasons why it works!

1. Brand Recognition

Batman and Superman are the two best known comic book superheroes in the world. In fact, they were chosen by IGN and Empire magazines as the two GREATEST comic book characters of all-time; Superman #1 and Batman #2. Also, as much as it pains me to say so, not everyone is a comic book fan. That means only fans know the moniker of the Batman/Superman team-up is "World's Finest." So as to reach a wider audience, it makes logical sense that the name is thus to establish that yes, it is a Batman/Superman movie.

2. It sounds more exciting!

I know, I know. I'm not the only one who wanted the title "World's Finest." Heck, I would've gone with "World's Finest: Dawn of Justice." Yeah, I know its sounds epic! But why "Batman v Superman?" "World's Finest" has the implication that the partnership has already been established and so Bruce and Clark have been friends for some time. "Batman v Superman" has a more action-sounding title. Plus, there's the implication that there will be a boxing-match between them. Action, action, action! That's what we want, as well as a fair fight.

3. Prequel for Justice League

We know that Justice League is coming in 2017, a year after Bruce and Clark meet up. With a name like "Dawn of Justice" it is being heavily implied the groundwork is being laid for the [Justice League](movie:401267) movie either at the end in the credits or in seeds sown during the movie.

Final Thoughts

I must admit, at first, I was a bit skeptical about Ben Affleck as Batman; but only for a couple minutes. I realized he's got the look of a billionaire playboy. He has the height, build, and yes the chin. On top of all of this, the Batsuit reveal sealed whatever doubt I had! The Batmobile appears to be epic looking as well. It combines elements from the Animated Series car as well as Nolan's Bat tumbler... Henry Cavill's Superman suit is also reported to being redesigned for the movie, not too much I hope. I rather liked his costume for "Man of Steel..." Let's not hate too much on Gal Gadot. Yes, even I was taken aback at first. But Zack Snyder must see something we don't and/or she fits into his version of Wonder Woman. So let's give her some support, yeah?... [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) will be epic in 2016! And with Justice League the following year, we're going to be in for an awesome movie-going experience two years from now!
