With Drew Goddard stepping down as director of the Netflix series set to air in 2015. coupled with Edgar Wright being fired from the [Ant-Man](movie:9048) movie there has been some speculation that this may be the beginning of the end for Marvel Studios.
There are a few reasons why in my opinion this is not the case, first off Drew Goddard is still going to be an Executive Producer along with Jeph Loeb. Jeph Loeb is one of the only reasons i watched Smallville for as long as i did, as well he is the writer of some of the best Batman stories to be written to date (Mainly The Long Halloween and Hush) And nobody can deny that Batman and Daredevil are very close to the same character (hell as of [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) they will have been portrayed by the same actor.. those of you still unconvinced that Ben Affleck with do Batman justice can start foaming at the mouth here.)
Another Reason I fell that [Daredevil](movie:47230) will still be a decent series is the addition of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Although he has never portrayed a comic character before he is no stranger to the realm of fantasy and if you have not yet seen him in Boardwalk Empire i suggest getting on that.
Finally Steven S, DeKnight has written episodes for some of my favorite shows to date including Dollhouse, Buffy, Angel, and one of the best episodes of Smallville [Ageless] (although it has to be said that he is also the writer behind one of the worst episodes of Smallville [Thirst] as well.. but we can't be perfect all the time)
