So far, the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy have been less than informational when it comes to the big bad our heroes(ish) will be facing off against. His name is Ronan the Accuser, and I have a feeling we're going to like him.
Lee Pace, the actor portraying Ronan, spoke with Hitfix recently about the villain and what we can expect:
“I’m really excited about this character. I mean he’s nuts. I mean I’ve never played anything like it and I’ve had such a good, it’s one of those things where you don’t know how to approach something like this. You can’t think, ‘Well, you know, this is my relationship with my father…’ It’s not that. There’s none of that, you now, kind of ‘This is how I would go about dealing with these problems.’ It’s a complete kind of act of imagination. But in the hands of James Gunn, I’m such a fan of his movies. So it’s very much a creation of his and I found myself being like, ‘Alright, let’s do it. You tell me what you’re into here.’”
Pace has reason to think Ronan is "nuts." The "Supreme Public Accuser" is an elite member of the Kree race as a birthright. In the comics, he's faced off against the Fantastic Four, the Inhumans and of course, the [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) (well, mostly Gamora).
Personally, I'm more excited about watching him with the Universal Weapon in action.
