Rumors have been swirling around since Friday about Anchorman director Adam McKay taking the reins for the upcoming [Ant-Man](movie:9048), a position that was recently made vacant with the departure of Edgar Wright.

Now, McKay has stated that negotiations between him and Marvel have ended, and he will not be directing the project. McKay also took to Twitter to avoid further speculation:

With yet another director walking away from the film (which is scheduled to begin shooting this summer), many fans are worried that the script is the culprit for Marvel's difficulty in finding a replacement for Wright. To be fair, McKay may actually just be too busy.
