In just 10 days, the massive comic book ensemble hit has managed gross $500 million at the box office worldwide. It has already surpassed all six of its predecessors, including "The Last Stand," which grossed nearly $460 million total.

The film has gathered $162 million domestically and $338 million globally during its ten-day run. It is sure to reach more milestones as the weeks carry on without any comic book movie competition until [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) opens in August.

The film would have to push pretty hard to match The Avengers, however, which managed to hit $1 billion in just 19 days and become one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Still, DoFP will most likely surpass Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which peaked at $709 million worldwide, as well as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at $690 million worldwide.
