Let’s crank up the rumor mill this morning people. A new “rumor” has started floating around with regards to [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870). Man that’s a long title! The new word is that Michael Wilkinson, costume designer for Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel sequel” (notice the quotation marks) has found his inspiration for creating Wonder Woman’s bracelets for the new film.
He took to twitter to make it known to his fans saying:
The Bracelets of Submission are a pair of indestructible steel cuffs worn by all Amazons of Paradise Island. They serve as a reminder of the years when the Amazons were subjugated under the rule of the treacherous Hercules. Years after gaining their independence however, the Amazons continued to wear the Bracelets as a symbol of their past oppression. Wonder Woman continued to wear a pair of these metal cuffs, each one decorated with a red star along the band. She often used the bracelets to deflect gunfire, small missiles and other projectile weaponry. - DC Wiki
Now I’m sorry, these bracelets he found at a jewelry booth in Las Vegas look NOTHING like WW’s traditional bracelets.
The style is completely off, and the width won’t be deflecting even the smallest caliber bullet. The bracelets he picked up, I think, will serve as a mock up. Something to go off of to recreate the Bracelets of Submission for the big screen.
Wonder Woman, being played by Gal Gadot, will be featured in DC’s attempt to start their own universe. I do believe she will have a prominent role, but just how important or how big her screen time will be is yet to be revealed. Dawn of Justice is said to set up the Justice League movie and has a nice host of characters. I do hope they give her just enough presence to have an impact on future films.
What do you think of the bracelets? Are you feeling the new bling? Speak your mind in the comments.
