Shailene Woodley is sick and tired of being compared to Jennifer Lawrence, and she wants us all to know about it.

[The Fault In Our Stars](movie:602185) star has spoken out in an extensive interview with New York Magazine about how much she hates being compared to other actresses in her age bracket.

Woodley sights an interview on an episode of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as the source of her rage. The 22-year-old actress went on to explain that when Fallon asked her;

How do you feel about being compared to Jennifer Lawrence?

And she answered;

Well, comparisons always lead to despair

That the audience went from a respectable silence to raucously booing her loudly. But, Woodley held her ground and explained that;

As women, we are constantly told that we need to compare ourselves to a girl in school, to our co-workers, to the images in a magazine

After this incident on the Tonight Show, Woodley expanded her comments by telling New York Magazine that;

I admire Jennifer Lawrence, but she’s everyone’s favorite person to compare me to. Is it because we both have short hair and a vagina? I see us as separate individuals

To be honest, Shailene it is also probably the fact that you are almost the same age, you're both actresses, you both work on young adult movies, and you're both talented individuals. I wouldn't say these things are a reason to get so touchy.

Women get treated badly in Hollywood in so many ways, from being given roles that constantly make them a 2D accessory to male leads to having their appearance annihilated with 'circles of shame' in the tabloids. Being favorably rated alongside one of the most well liked actresses in your generation is a veritable bouquet of glee in comparison.

What do you think of Shailene Woodley's Jennifer Lawrence comparison complaints?
