Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Red State) shared an exclusive teaser photo behind the scenes from his new film - body horror TUSK on his personal Instagram this week - check it out!
TUSK is a modern-day monster movie that follows a journalist named Wallace (Justin Long) who finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Michael Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.
Above is the relatively painless process of prosthetic casting, which gives us an idea of what our hero is in for during his transformation.
Below is Kevin Smith's Instagram photo - Justin Long (Dodgeball, Drag Me To Hell) rocking a weird walrus-y mustache, as Wallace (OMG that sounds like Walrus - cue me making a face) who is being subjected to the vile surgical caress of his captor. With arms sewn to his sides, and what looks like a mouth guard (I'm guessing there's some serious head banging and teeth grinding involved here) Justin is clearly stoked on the project, and the prosthetic work looks pretty amazing.
Since it looks like we're in for a Human Centipede type enforced surgery plan, I'm hoping for some great villain monologues and a lot of impotent struggling. Although, while Kevin Smith may feel like a walrus deep down, I'm not sure that TUSK is something that will resonate without coming off as another View Askew joke...but I've been wrong before.
The film, also written by Kevin Smith, stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment (whyyy), Genesis Rodriguez and Michael Parks.
Planned release for TUSK is for Winter 2014 - will you be checking this one out?
