Having already shot scenes in both Kualoa Ranch on Oahu and Kahili Ranch on Kauai- both filming locations on previous Jurassic instalments- word began to spread that Jurassic World production would next be heading South. Well it seems those rumors were indeed true.
It has just been announced that the production team will set up shop for 11 weeks in an abandoned Six Flags amusement park in New Orleans. Casting for background extras, and all that jazz, is allegedly being being carried out under the working title Ebb Tide. The call went up as follows:
A Steven Spielberg film, needs men and women (18yrs-75yrs) who are available to work: 6/6, and 6/9 through 6/13 at Six Flags Park. Pay is $101.50/12 hrs.
If you are available for at least 2 of the dates, please email directly to “EbbTide”: your photo, name, email, phone, height and weight to:[email protected]
In the subject line, please put: referred by Robin Batherson. If you’ve already registered for “Ebb Tide”, no need to submit again.
Hold up? 8.50 an hour. Just over the minimum wage for Louisiana, seems a bit tight for a $150,000,000 film?
But then, who are we to say...
The Six Flags sight has gotten a second wind of late, with the last Percy Jackson as well as Matt Reeves' [Dawn of the Planet of the Apes](movie:322904) having both shot there. Whatever the case, it looks like a terrific location and we'll wait tentatively to see what sort of chaos Colin Trevorrow unleashes on the place when the film opens this time next year.

[Jurassic World](movie:32752) opens June 12th next year.
