Samurai X fans! Can you believe it? If you're not on my level then you can't even begin to fathom how much I'm fan-girling right now.
I'm sure all of you have experienced the gruelling pain of having a series you loved, a game you loved, a comic you loved, mutilated in front of your very eyes when film makers translate it to the big screen. When 'Rurouni Kenshin' came out back in 2012 however, practically everyone was a pleased fan. So with my 100% faith in director Keishi Ohtomo, I can't wait to see what he's got in store for us.
Before I get into this article, watch what's supposed to be the trailer for the next two sequels that come out a month and two weeks apart from each other (I'm so glad he's not making us wait a year for the finale).
On a level from 1-10 you're on a 12 right?
We already knew the legendary characters that we're going to make their debut in the sequels, but watching it all unfold before our eyes is just too much. August 1 is a sealed date on my calendar, despite me probably having to wait for subtitles.
There's no need to guess what's going to happen in the sequels since most of us already know the whole story line, but that doesn't mean it loses any of its wonder. From character glimpses, to snippets of the fights choreography I can't wait to see a number of things, like how they're going to portray Seta Sōjirō's shukuchi, in which he moves at such lightning speed you can only see the dents in the ground of his footprints after they've been made. As well as Shishio Makoto as a whole, the main villain in this whole trilogy. The costume design so far of his bandages is amazing, and I can imagine actor Tatsuya Fujiwara would do the character incredible justice, as we've seen him play another great manga psychopath, Light Yagami from Deathnote.
There's not much more I can get into though since the niche this caters to is full of cult fans, in which case anything I'd say has probably already been discussed by you and your mates to the nth degree.
But I'll leave you with these two famous lines from the series that were thankfully said in the trailer:
"The strong shall live and the weak shall die."
I got goosebumps typing those out. Mark your calendars! August 1 and September 13. How I can't wait.
