*WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD

The season finale of Arrow season 2 left a lot of fans asking a lot of questions, such as 'Will Laurel become Canary?' 'Why did Thea join Malcolm' and 'Is Roy now Red Arrow?' Well... here is what I think we can expect from season 3 of Arrow.

Arsenal

Roy Harper AKA Arsenal (Red Arrow)
Roy Harper AKA Arsenal (Red Arrow)

Ever since Roy Harper stole Thea Queen's handbag back in season one, fans have been dying to see his team up with Oliver on screen. We were teased halfway through the second season when Oliver promised to teach him to control his super strength granted by the Mirakuru. They then fought together for a couple of episodes, and Oliver later revealed his identity to him, but that all ended when Roy left Starling City. At the end of season two, we seen Roy fighting side by side with Oliver, donning a red mask and bow.

For season 3, I believe that Roy will team up with Oliver regularly. But in the case of his name, I really do think that he will be called Arsenal. We know that he hates the nickname Speedy, and the show seems to drop colours from hero names, Arrow and Canary for example, so that means Red Arrow is unlikely and will most probably be called Arsenal.

Laurel becomes Canary

Right, I think everyone knew this would happen one day. If you are a comic reader then you know that Dinah Laurel Lance is the Black Canary, so it was only going to be a short time before we seen Laurel become Canary in the Arrowverse. We have already seen her sister Sarah take up the mantle of 'The Canary' in season 2, but now that she has left it's time for Laurel to keep the legacy going.

The Dark Archer Returns

Malcolm Merlyn AKA The Dark Archer

With his shock return from the dead midway through season 2, we knew that we had not seen the end of Malcolm Merlyn. He then turned up at the end of the season to save his daughter, Thea, from one of Slade's henchmen. Arrow producers have also announced that John Barrowman, the actor who portrays Merlyn, will become a season regular in the third season. We last seen Merlyn leaving Starling City with his daughter Thea, which leads to my next point...

Thea becomes Cheshire or Artemis

Thea Queen leaving Starling City

Season 2 gave us a very emotional story arc for Thea, with her breaking up with Roy, getting kidnapped by Slade and finding out Malcolm was her father. We then see her leave Starling City with her father, but with Malcolm being a series regular next season, the question being asked is what will happen to Thea?

I believe that Malcolm will train her to become more like him and turn her into either Cheshire or Artemis.

Cheshire seems like the most likely to happen. In the Young Justice storyline, Cheshire worked with her father and has a relationship with Roy Harper, aka Arsenal. Her father was not Merlyn but actually Sportsmaster, but we know already that the show can change some of the characters backstory. My guess is that Merlyn will train her into an assassin, and will later face The Arrow, who will unmask her and realise it is his sister. He will then try to take her back and that is when she will become Artemis.

Artemis is a good candidate for Thea if we look at the Young justice storyline. She has a strong relationship with Green Arrow and has paired up with Roy Harper a few times. She is an Archer which would fit in perfectly with the Arrowverse, and her father is also Sportsmaster.

More Suicide Squad

With Amanda Waller set to become the main focus of the Season 3's flashbacks, I wouldn't be surprised to see more of her and her Suicide Squad in the present timeline. More Suicide Squad would also allow the show to finally include Harley Quinn after that brief, albeit, awesome cameo. It would also allow the show to tie up the Deadshot-Diggle storyline, and find out why he shot Diggles brother. And let's admit... who doesn't want to see more Deadshot?

Nightwing

Late 2013, The Vampire Diaries actor Steve McQueen tweeted this photo

The picture caused an internet frenzy, and many fans were so excited to see Nightwing in season 2, but unfortunately that never happened, but he was teased at when we heard Roy was staying at Bludhaven, a city where Nightwing operates usually. The actor also wrote on twitter

Had some superhero conversations with the executives this weekend @ARROWwriters

McQueen has expressed his love for superheroes before, most notably Nightwing, and since his character has been killed off on The Vampire Diaries, another CW show, who's to say he can't jump to Arrow?

More 'Olicity' Trolling

Let's face it, we all nearly died when Oliver told Olicity that he loved her... then proceeded to nearly smash our TV's when it turned out to be an elaborate ruse to outplay Slade. Arrow has been hinting at 'Olicity' for quite some time, but with Laurel now becoming Canary, I can't see Oliver being with Felicity, but the writers will continue to troll us for quite sometime.

The Question and Huntress?

It's been hinted that Jessica Degoew would reprise her role as The Huntress in Arrow season 3, with the possibility of Oliver breaking her out of prison and her becoming a heroine. There has been no confirmation of this, but with a rumour going around that The Question is set to make an appearance, it seems more likely to happen. Since the JLU animated show, Huntress and Question have been a couple in various storylines. Their major story arc in the JLU show was when Question and Huntress tried to uncover a conspiracy surrounding Amanda Waller at Cadmus. And with Waller looking like she will play a major part in season 3, who's to say it can't play out?

So what are you most excited for in Arrow Season 3?
