Tom Cruise whooped up on the Martians in War of the Worlds, and he brought some of that case of whoop ass to France, to kick some invading alien butt.

This movie was actually better than I expected. I don't expect much when i go to see a flick with Tom Cruise, he plays a lot of formulaic parts. I don't know if he chooses them or if he's type cast, maybe a bit of both. Don't get me wrong, Cruise puts out excellent action flicks, but there's not always a lot of substance to the movie.

This action packed "Groundhog Day" is worth seeing, if for nothing more than the comedy of watching him die, over and over and over again, while he tries to figure out how to use it to his advantage to overcome an extra terrestrial invasion

The beautiful Emily Blunt gives a wonderful supporting performance, who gets to shoot Cruise several times in the process of training him.

On the upside side, at least this time they're not in San Francisco or New York. I was beginning to wonder if the rest of the world was untouchable from invading aliens. If it were done right, this could see a sequel, but i'm not sure a sequel would be as fun as the original.

On a scale of 1 to 10 i'd give this a 7.5. The action is awesome, the special effects are great, and watching Tom Cruise's reactions every time he dies are amusing. So if there's nothing else out that you want to see, and you want something to do that will make you laugh, this is definitely the movie for you.
