You've got to wonder why you would go to the hard work of producing a movie, only to call it something incredibly off-putting. Although to be fair, some of these movie titles do justice to the plots quite nicely....
Here is my list of some of the most ridiculous and off-putting horror movies titles I have ever heard. (Please note that these are not in any particular order)
Killer Pizza (2014) - Now the plot here isn't great, but it's certainly not as awful as the title. The movie is currently in development, but is said to center around a fourteen year old boy who is hired at a pizza joint for the summer. Turns out, the pizza store is actually a front for a monster hunting enterprise.
ThanksKilling (2009) - Lets face it, a horror movie has been made for every single holiday or significant date you could ever think of! (Black Christmas, Friday the 13th, Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, Santa's Slay etc) but this one is unbelievable. "A homicidal turkey axes off college kids during Thanksgiving break." - A Turkey? Really? I guess it's not as bad as the 2010 movie 'Rubber', about a TIRE with telepathic abilities blowing up people's heads, but then again the title is less off-putting there, so you might actually bother to read the description!
(The) Kitchen Sink (2015) - "Vampires, humans and zombies used to get along in Dillford, but then something unexpected arrived and now it's humans vs. vampires vs. zombies in all-out mortal combat. It's up to three teenagers to try to get things back to "normal."" Okay, so I do understand the title - "Everything but the kitchen sink", but is that not the most stupid movie title you have ever heard? Surely the could have come up with something a bit more appealing then that!
Evil Bong (2006) - "A movie about a group of college stoners who smoke from a sentient, malevolent bong unaware that it traps the smoker in a surreal strip-club with killer strippers and other strange creatures." I suppose some people must have like this one, as it has had a few sequels and spin offs including 'Gingerdead Man vs Evil Bong'. *Sigh.
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes (1978) - "A group of scientists band together to save the world from mutated tomatoes that KILL!" Now this is another one that was actually strangely popular, despite the cheese factor. It had multiple sequels, and is now widely heard of across the globe. There are even rumors of a remake in the works!
I think it's fair to say that there are literally thousands of awful horror movie titles out there, so unfortunately I couldn't list them all! Although I will add a few 'honorable' mentions.
Which film on this list do you think has the most ridiculous title?
